The Panasonic NPM-W2 places particular emphasis on versatility for larger PCBs and components. It is a model to examine when the assembly workload extends beyond dense chip placement and includes larger packages or demanding board formats.
The machine’s head selection and component supply arrangement need to match that workload. Tape-fed chips, tray-fed ICs and larger components create different requirements, so two NPM-W2 units can represent different production capabilities despite sharing the same model name.
Panasonic’s NPM platform also includes process integration functions, but inspection, dispensing and connected control capabilities must be checked against the installed hardware and software. They should be itemised when included in an offer.
