The Samsung SM481 combines a single gantry with a ten-spindle placement head, giving it a broader assembly role than a machine focused mainly on small chip components. The original SM481 carries an optimum chip placement rating of 38,000 CPH and supports components from metric 0402 chips to 42 mm square ICs under the specified configuration. These figures belong to the SM481, rather than the later SM481 PLUS.
Its flying vision system checks components during head movement, helping reduce the time spent on separate recognition steps. Compatibility with SM-series pneumatic feeders also matters to factories that already hold a substantial feeder inventory.
We welcome enquiries with the actual component mix. A board dominated by chip resistors and capacitors places different demands on the SM481 from one carrying larger IC packages, so the camera configuration, feeder selection and nozzle package should be considered together.
