Complex component outlines can take time to register in a placement library. The Hanwha SM482 Plus includes a Polygon function that helps operators define those shapes, supported by a high-pixel vision system for IC recognition.

The machine has one gantry and six spindles, with an optimum rating of 30,000 CPH. Published accuracy is ±40 μm for chip components and ±30 μm for QFPs at ±3σ.

Its flying-camera range reaches 22 × 22 mm under the specified configuration. The required fixed-camera and MFOV arrangements extend recognition to larger packages, including 55 × 55 mm components and connectors up to 75 mm long.
